Clinching is cheating and getting away with it and is basically being aided by the ref. The poor opponent is fighting 2 people in the ring. Penalize clinching and the fight changes dramatically.

Hard for Floyd to beat because Floyd uses other tactics too. Elbowing, forearm, headlocks, pushes off ..... then has better mobility so he does not have to hugg every time. So it cuts the number down.

So for someone that moves like Floyd did, the Maidana numbers are quite high.
