My 6th grade teacher taught us how to play chess. This was a time before computers and internet. When kids played Monopoly, checkers, Chinese checkers, Risk etc.
Damn the more I think about it the more I'm tempted... anyone else be interested in that ****? I could use a pair of hands to help run it though but I'll look into how to get it set up at the very least.
Mmm. I'm thinking maybe I'll start a thread to see how many people we could count on joining and what sorta format... could do some kinda Round Robin or a Knockout or some sorta other league format. I'll at least look into how it could work.
Go for it I'm little rusty but I can hold my own do you know your elo

Nah, don't have an ELO... actually joined the local Chess club and was looking to get a ranking shortly before COVID hit, but then it all got shut down, clashed with BJJ anyway so I didn't get in as much as I woulda liked. Was county level as a kid though, but that was a long, looong, time ago.
Play online at Chess.com though, tend to be hovering around 1600 on 10 minute games which is what I play most, 1350 - 1400 on 5 min and daily which I only done a few times.
WRT a 'Scene tourney Ima look in to how it'd be done using Chess.com - seems to be the most used - and then get a thread up in the next few days, see how many folk would be interested.
