              A lot of southern people hide their accent.

              Maybe he was hiding it before and now he doesn't care.

              I spent a lot of time in the south growing up. Almost all southern people have 2 accents they use- A normal accent, and their natural drawl.

                The point is he's not from the south. He's from a well off area in California.
