So why are there a certain faction of fans claiming Lewis ducked Vits? And why is any ABC fan in favor of what happened? Total BS in my opinion and I don't expect much from anyone who supports or excuses this. We'll see though....

Lol, there is always someone that needs to make up and hold onto something. Kind of like the whole"Johnsons seconds climed under the ring screaming stop the fight" against Burns. Have a damn difference of opinion, but to hold onto something that blatantly isn't true is just lowbrow and pe...Bronson66

I remember Vits rescheduling a few of time for Rahman. I don't remember the particulars personally. This wasn't just a fan writing a post, it was an article on this site. Don't know if that makes it better, but there it is. The fact is though, and I have looked it up, is Vits kept putting Rahman off....Willie Pep 229 likes this.

It's definitely a positive loss and a great effort. My point is the klit lovers trying to denigrate Lewis for retiring without rematching when Vits did the same exact thing, but never even fought Rahman. And the WBC letting him get away with it and declaring him "champion emeritus " is the...Marchegiano likes this.

I didn't forget him. Vit fans like to conveniently ignore this but rag Lewis for winning and than retiring. Just happened to come across it and found it hysterical as I hadn't read this article before....Marchegiano likes this.

Vits was never the champion, so there was nothing to strip unless you count the cartoon belt. Lewis fought the best. Vits ducked a Byrd rematch that could have made him a lineal champ and 28 other top ten contenders during his time. He also signed to fight Rahman, backed out and never tried to make...

Lewis didn't need the ABC's he was the champion with or without their cartoon belts. And Vits fighting Carr instead of Povetkin highlights the problem with ABC mandatories. Occasionally you get a true number one as a defense with the Hannah-Barbera orgs, most of the time you get what vits gave us....

Let me put it in perspective for you. Your hero Vits who you consider a champion had his last fight against Manuel Charr, the WBC #1 rated contender. Do you think he would have been given more credit or less had he fought Povetkin ( the next best fighter after himself and Wlad) instead of the almighty...Coverdale likes this.

What about best Japanese fighter all time? Has he done enough? Harad resume trumps Inoue in my opinion. Not everyone rates fighters the same though. I'd have to look into it more, but as is i can't see him being lower than number two out of Japan. But like I said, I'm not well versed in the great fighters...

I think Holy took him lightly, but still pushed forward for the win. Cooper was a good fighter, just inconsistent. I expect had they fought again Evander would have handled him much more easily....BKM- likes this.

Sure Queenie. You must be to drunk already. "n 1990 and got beat up badly by Big George and Buster Douglas though he pulled out the wins." That wasn't you who said this?...

Easily? I don't think so. His dominance is huge, but does the competition really compare?...

Good stuff.
I find it hysterical guys who defend the ABC orgs and actually believe there is a new world champion if a guy like Lewis gets stripped for actually fighting a better fighter than any particular mandatory....Coverdale

Naoya Inoue's place in history
I don't think (at least for me) its quite time to rate Inoue's place in an all time sense yet. But maybe this can give us an idea where he may end up. Has Naoya surpassed Fighting Harada as Japan's greatest boxer? I've seen lists and even an article published on Boxingscene that believe so. I'm not...

I think it's unfair to use the Walker fight. Let's not forget that Mickey actually had a draw with heavyweight Jack Sharkey. Walker was very formidable at any weight....
