    Improvement...

    Could some people tell me how I could work on; speed, power, footwork/movement, and reflexes?

    I know the following;

    Speed - Shadowboxing with small dumbbell weights in my hands, throwing fast combination without stopping even when fatigued... which would also increase endurance.

    Power - Speed basically equals power so when working on speed power will come with it, however hitting heavy bag often increases your power, lifting weights to an extent (you can't lift too much otherwise it will reduce speed), and also the technique used.

    Footwork/Movement - Stay on your toes and move correctly when shadowboxing, also do plenty of skipping.

    Reflexes - I don't know much on reflex training, one would be getting a Maze/Slip bag and using that to help my slipping reflexes (I saw a tutorial on how to effectively make one myself on youtube, want link just ask).

    That is all I know to help increase these attributes so could you guys please give me some tips on other new ideas on increasing these things? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Green karma for helping!

    Power - my coach always tells me to go up to the heavy bag and throw power shots for a few rounds at a time non stop

    Reflexes - I would say sparring. Also, there are sports that help with reflexes (ping pong, baseball, basketball...and even juggling)

    Footwork/Movement - if you can dance, you should have good footwork.


    Go to a gym and get trained.

      I go to the gym and train hard and stuff, I am just asking questions on things I can do at home when the gym's closed to improve on these things.

          Speed - Shadowboxing with light weights is very good, as is using resistance bands.

          Power - Heavy bag, "explosive" weight training such as power cleans, snatches etc and/or big compound lifts such as deadlifts, weighted pullups, weighted dips etc.

          Footwork - Practice shadowboxing for a few rounds just concentrating on your footwork. Practice moving around, slipping, ducking and generally keeping on your toes/in position to punch.

          Reflexes - Have a partner throw punches at you and try to dodge them. Start off with the jab (slowly of course!) and have him/her build up the speed and then move on to other punches.
