Comments Thread For: Roy Jones Jnr open to Jake Paul fight: Id beat him, I'm sure, but you have to be on A-game

I love Roy about as much as anyone but there is a theme here where Jake, who is a bit better than people give him credit for, while simultaneously not being good enough to face anything remotely elite, has found a sweet spot in beating up old has been legends and I'm not so sure Roy would be any different especially considering Roy has been iced half a dozen times. I absolutely do not want to see this fight.

I would hope it doesn't happen, even though I'm all for Roy getting paid well.

Jake could not be mentioned anywhere in the breath of notable boxers today or any era, obviously, without being nasty.

He is brilliantly marketed though, knows basics of boxing, and is a big, strong guy.

But Roy in a boxing fight now, no, didn't look good in an exhibition with Mike. So it would be sad to see Jake knocking him out, with the reality of the current situation and shape they're in.

Jake would KO Roy at this stage of Roy's life. Would the old, great legend have to be given the benefit of 2 minute rounds just like Tyson was? Even many complete newbies that are naturally strong and have a fighter's mentality could KO Roy now days. He's been done for so many years now.

Imagine if these guys 20-30 years ago could see themselves now getting in the ring (or even wanting to) with a guy like Jake Paul, and most likely losing to him. Its ****ing sad.
