Comments Thread For: Regis Prograis Says Josh Taylor Is Declining: 'I Don't Think He Has Much Longer Left To Go'

Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall will finally fight in their grudge match over two years in the making on Saturday at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom. Many observers believe Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs) did more than enough to beat then-undisputed super lightweight champion Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs) in their 2022 tilt.

They're in the same boat. They should have a rematch if Taylor wins .

Prograis could probably say the same about himself.

Regis made a very intelligent comment (& Regis is a genuinely intelligent guy) a while back about how a good nutritionist can greatly aid your career as you get to the back end of it, & also minimise the risk of serious brain damage. I would guess he never passed any of that on to JT, or, typically, JT wouldn't listen anyhow. I think JT is in a very troubling situation because he can't safely make 140 but he knows that if he goes to 147 he's toast.

Regis should say that he and Taylor are declining. Both of their best days are behind them. Regis saying Taylor is declining is like the "pot calling the kettle black". Lol

That's what Catterall said, "I believe he's in decline, capitalize on it and put him to bed." Which is why Jack resumed chasing him.

Catterall has not exactly helped his own career by waiting for JT. He probably should've been more proactive. I didn't realise he is 31, no spring chicken himself, & he hasn't done anything in 2 years except bleat about a bad decision. He needed to go on & up. Now, even if he beats JT, he is on the outside looking in as others fight for titles.

Cat had momentum even with the bad decision. He was in a better spot when it was fresh. Waiting for a fight that lost it's purpose is inane. The only thing he gets now if he wins, is I told you so.

We all are declining Regis. We are all declining.

We are born. We reach our physical adult ceiling. We start watching court shows & taking extra fiber. We die.
