    - -Leon 7-0-1 vs Cassius Clay 8-0, and who you got?

    - -In my never ending quest to even the field of play, let's start wif Leon Summary the night he whooped Ali.

Ali vast experience and reputation that toofless Leon impugned mightily, so how would Leon do vs 8-0, age 19 Clay when he went the 10 rd distance wif Alonzo Johnson?

Ali was 192 lb, in the range of Leon's fight weight, had one of the best trainers in his corner with more intense devoted time to boxing than the Marine veteran Leon who had other duties to fulfill as part of his Marine hitch.

Could Ali keep the swarming nonstop Leon off him, something he was unable to do in bof their title bouts?

    Hmmm...

I was in the corps when Leon was. My buddy from home (B-more) was in the same time. He saw Leon fight during that time. Leon certainly perfected his relentless attacking style in his Marine Corps days. As much as I love Leon, God rest his soul, Cassius Clay would've beat him pretty easily. I don't know if he'd knock him out, But it would've been a 15 round beating. Kind of like the beating Vitali Klitchco laid on Briggs. It would've been target practice. I don't think Leon would've even had a punchers chance, as Ali had one of history's best chins. JMHO

Not sure what your point is. What do two guys Clay beat by TKO have to do with how he would've done against Spinks? Ali is in every GOAT conversation in the boxing world. Spinks ain't.

To follow up on your post....as tough as Leon was, Ali was probably a better fighter, and certainly more gifted at 8-0 than he was when he lost to Spinks. Maybe not as smart, but he wouldn't need to be.

            Thank you for your service.
