Former EBU president, EBU and WBC official Bob Logist, from Belgium, has passed away at the age of 82.

Logist was EBU President from 2006 to 2022 when he was forced to resign due to illness.

Before that, Logist was an excellent judge and referee with the Belgian Federation, EBU and the WBC in a long career that dates back to the 1970s.

Tributes have been paid to Logist online, with WBC head Mauricio Sulaiman writing on X: “Our dear Bob Logist has passed away. One of the greatest judges in boxing history who then presided the European Boxing Union. A loyal WBC man and a true gentleman.”

The sentiment was echoed by Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren, whose X account read: “Saddened to hear of the passing of Bob Logist, an exemplary judge of our sport and later the president of the EBU. Rest in peace, Bob.”
