Jorge Garcia Perez used activity and power punching to outwork the previously unbeaten Charles Conwell, landing more power shots in eight out of the twelve rounds en route to the split decision win on Saturday night. Perez, 33-4 (26 KOs), threw more total punches than Conwell, 750 to 701, but landed just fewer, 166 from Conwell to Perez’s 164, but had a slight edge in power shots, landing 145 to Conwell’s 140, while throwing 90 more power shots at 550.

Conwell, now 21-1 (16 KOs), did better with his jab, landing 26 to Perez’s 19 in defeat.
