man down is cool, and a nice guy, I'd like to have a beer with him.

The lounge is a lot more representative of the general public than say Twitter or Reddit, which are basically left wing echo chambers.

We also have some older folk who post, which is rare on the internet, I guess it's because most people join here to talk boxing, then some migrate over here.

Luckily the mods here are also pretty based and not hardcore lefties, which I'm grateful for lol.

Schools are no longer about learning. They are ******* indoctrination and daycare. They should all be defunded. The teacher unions are ******* lunatics calling to defund police and end charter schools.

People without kids shouldn't be funding them anyway. Property taxes keep rising so kids can have individual laptops, tablets, etc... that are unnecessary and need replaced too often. Make parents pay for their own kids! Give tax breaks to those without kids since it's ass backwards at the moment, let parents have school choice, get rid of common core, allow kids to eat whatever packed lunch they want(shouldn't ban foods because some little weak **** is allergic to peanuts, etc...), make ******** use the bathroom they should use instead of what they "identify" as, make ******** play against their real gender, etc...

I think it's a wise choice to homeschool. Less worthless kids influencing your kids. Less ******* indoctrination. Mask stuff is moronic and detrimental to health. Real virus masks cover the whole head since you can get exposure through eyes too. These mandated masks are just to control people. Sick people need masks not healthy people.

Schools will not open back up fully until about December or when we have some sort of vaccine mate.

There are too many questions and problems that, as of now, cant be answerednot taking into account the liability issues, which is an entirely different mess.

Donald Trump is saying what most of us want (everyone wants schools open and a return to normalcy), but this is one battle hes not going to win. We wont be able to open up schools again fully. Parents' concern for their childs safety always trumps (no pun intended) political bs.

Our state has decided that students will go back full time with masks being worn at all times.
My wife has been wearing a mask for two months now for eight hours a day. My daughter noticed mom had blue lips and mom hasn't been feeling great. Her sinuses are bad! So this last Thursday she went to her doc where she was told she has a sinus infection because of the n95 she wears as a requirement. She was given antibiotics and told to remove it when she can.

The doctor had a talk with her about masks and the harm they're doing. She told her she saw a nine year old boy the other day. The mom and boy put the mask on when he got out of the car. They waited in the waiting room and then in the doc's office. They took his vitals and for that 20 min of waiting his 02 level was 91!!!!!! She told the mom to remove the mask right now.
My wife and doc started talking about school and the mask requirements. All children from 4 up will wear a mask all day. This is very bad for a young childs development. Not to mention it's 90 degrees plus here.
We have decided our 10 year old daughter will not return to school and with her friends will do distance learning and play together.
I was set to send her back but after this info it's not going to happen. In this process I've learned school is a babysitter. My daughter was distracted enough in forth grade with cussing and kids being sent to the office. Parent meetings were setup and nothing would change with the bad kids that take away from others that want to learn.

I disagree with what's being pushed because the health of my child is number one.

Kids homeschool everyday and have no issues so how bad can zoom be with a teacher? I mean really.

It really pains me that American schools have become childcare these days. Parents shouldn't live beyond their means and think more about their children.

          Just my .02.
I am in FL , they have like 3 different options in my kids school district.1) normal school 2) mix of virtual and normal 3) fully virtual . I am sending my kids to back to school with option #1.My sons will be a senior and sophmore this upcoming year they have always excelled in school and are currently in a program called IB( International Baccalaureate). My daughter will be going to the 4th grade.Once the schools shutdown the online was horrible , my kids were treating it like they were on summer break I have never had to be "on their ass" about school until then.I did not see a positive effect of virtual learning in those 2 months.

I see where a lot of ******* school districts want to prevent homeschooling because they cant push their bias and agendas on the impressionable minds of kids.
This is all true but it depends on where you live. I live in a very conservative town. My kids all go to to public schools (elementary, jr high and high school) and all their schools are A rated schools.I have been to a lot of different events and met with their teachers thru the years. I ask my kids specific questions about what they are being taught and I can assure you they are not being indoctrinated and brainwashed.

Black Lives Matter In Public Schools Is Turning Kids Into Little Marxists

              The Federalist:

School systems across the country are adopting *** curriculum at at alarming rate, indoctrinating our children to achieve Marxist objectives.

New York City is one of many school systems in the United States set to roll out Black Lives Matter (***)-themed lesson plans this fall. According to the NYC Department of Education, teachers will delve into “systemic racism,” police brutality, and white privilege in their classrooms.

North Carolina’s largest school system in Wake County launched a website this summer that provides *** lessons for teachers to use in classrooms and for parents to use at home. The website, created by the school system’s Office of Equity Affairs, encourages teachers to “address the injustices that exist beyond education by the conversations we have with others, by speaking up when we see hate, by supporting efforts that oppose racism and oppression, and by directly engaging in advocacy work.”

Encouraging people to identify and condemn racism is an undeniably laudable undertaking by these school administrators. That’s not what’s really happening, however. By bringing *** into the classroom, activist educators are allowing the most radically divisive movement in modern American history to warp children’s worldviews.

Wake County’s *** teaching resource is dressed up as a legitimate civics education resource, complete with tips for fostering civil discourse and a section on teaching historical facts about America’s civil rights movement. But closer inspection reveals it to be a deliberate Trojan Horse conceived to incubate, amplify, and channel the movement’s attitudes for political ends.

The site lays out a cult-like recruiting process for students to follow.

Step one: Recognize your white privilege.
Step two: Learn the dos and don’ts of being an ally.
Step three: Recruit more members to learn steps one and two.

You gotta do what ya gotta do. This maybe a non issue for kids and the virus. But with a mask required I can't sign off on it. Like I said I'll let others test things out.

The program they rushed into place last year will be much different this year as I understand it. They've been working on a better system than what was given last year.

We'll see how it goes. I do know one thing, after hearing about the reduced 02 levels I'm not playing that game.

Yeah that is my dilemma , I have not worn a mask and I am out and about all the time.I do carry one in case an establishment requires it.The mask concerns you bring up are 100% justified.

My kids school was pushing the ***** agenda very hard. They're the worst school in the district for sports and have very little school spirit but "theyre gay friendly."

Honestly, school needs to be restructured. Kids should be taught life skills at a young age. High schoolers should learn trades. All these single parents & working parents have no time to raise kids so schools need to step it up, kids learning life lessons on social media has them all f'd up.
