This is another money grab fight. They were more entertaining than most expected but once Eubank fell into a grove he had the fight. It will be the same earlier in the fight.

Given that Eubank is the winner, and Conner needs this rematch much more than Eubank, at minimum the weight will be 162 lbs or 11 stone 8 lbs. It wouldn't be reasonable to expect Eubank to agree to a weight he obviously can't make.

One of the fighters this time around needs to win via knockout to conclude the rivalry 'For now'.
I think if the rematch is at 160 pounds 'Without any rehydration clause, then Chris Eubank Junior can force a stoppage vs Conor Benn. Eubank Junior will still be weight drained, but? I think he will be in better form than the first fight'.
Note: The biggest challenge for Chris Eubank Junior for the first fight was 'The rehydration clause. I would imagine that his entire training camp, was dominated by this stipulation. That in my opinion is not a great training environment, for a fighter to be in. Chris Eubank Junior should have been primarily training to win, not training to make the weight limit. That can be one of the factors in an optimal training camp, compared to a sub-optimally training camp in the lower weight divisions'.
The rematch makes sense for both fighters 'Especially for Conor Benn. A lost to Chris Eubank Junior, really does not affect the rest of his career at 147 or 154 pounds. But of course it does matter how he loses, Benn will be once again aiming to produce a great effort'.
Conor Benn may have lost the first fight 'But it was his best performance of his entire career. In that one fight, he displayed a level of competitiveness and durability that we had never seen before in all of his previous fights'.
To conclude: In regards to Chris Eubank Junior, his team should have campaigned for no rehydration clause 'I would be very surprised if this rematch, has the exact same stipulations surrounding the weight limit and rehydration clause as the first fight. I don't think Conor Benn and matchroom, really deserve the same deal as the first fight. All the weight stipulations were put in place to increase the likely-hood of Conor Benn winning, they did not fight Chris Eubank Junior at his optimal best and they were still beaten'.
So as I stated at the beginning of my posts 'The rematch makes sense for both fighters, and this time around I think? The fighters will be aiming to win via a knockout in more conclusive fashion' etc.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 06-30-2025, 06:47 AM.
