I have to say I REALLY like the idea of copying the MMA model and only have ONE champion per weight class (and reverting to the original 8 weight classes). Nowadays, we have more than double that amount and 4 champions in each (not forgetting the regular/interim BS or the IBO/Ring belts which a lot of top fighter's still hold).

In other words, being a champion is MEANINGLESS because everyone's a champion (just like being a celebrity isn't as glamorous as it used to be given the advent of YouTubers, influencers, reality TV 'stars' etc).

Less is MORE.

This reminds me of a time long long ago (2018) when this new venture called DAZN entered the US market with a 2 billion dollar war chest and we were told that all American boxers would join and the American promoters were going to just go away. Does anyone remember that? Here we go again

I hope there is a conference call right now between Haymon, Arum, Oscar, Eddie, Warren, WBC, WBA, IBF and all the REAL players. I hope this finally wakes them up. If all goes right then Top rank will join PBC on Amazon this summer. Then GBP should soon follow

You're right! As long as Top rank PBC and GBP are on 3 separate networks and not fighting each other then no network will make them a priority. Butttttttttt.... if Top rank joins PBC on Amazon and followed by GBP then boxing will be just fine
