I was at this fight. I remember it like yesterday. Ricardo 'Finito' Lopez was on the undercard against a very good South African fighter.

Ha ha ha!!! Man, I hated B-Hop until I couldn’t hate him anymore. He kept proving how great he was all through his 40’s. An ATG without a doubt.

Hated to see Hopkins win that one. Hopkins was too crafty, strong & big for Tito. Hopkins did the same to Oscar, for the same reasons.

Hopkins forgot where he was. "Puerto Ricans are black too"? What dahell was he thinking? It's not a bullet proof vest. That was a moment like Povetkin KO Whyte. Instant Kharma.

Getting knocked out of the ring by Smith was more Kharma, but that look on his face when he realized and fleeing for his life was pure slapstick. That was awesome. Thanks for reminding me.

This fight is one of my best memories as a boxing fan. I literally scheduled my wedding a week before this fight was supposed to take place so I didn't miss it!! There is no way Hopkins should have been an underdog in this fight. Hopkins grabbing that Puerto-Rican flag and throwing it to the ground IN Puerto Rico was crazy. Hopkins absolutely had Trinidad flustered and rattled before the fight. Also recall...... Hopkins accurately predicted that Tito Trinidad had too much heart and would not quit, and that Papa Trinidad would have to jump in and save his son. That is EXACTLY what happened. Great fight. If you are not familiar with this one...... go back and watch videos of the build-up to the fight, and then the actual fight. Awesome stuff.

He never fought anyone who outclassed him in size/weight, it was the other way around. He lost against the more powerful punchers.

He got some of his biggest wins against smaller elite fighters, and he only beat two that were his size in their primes - Pavlik and Tarver.

Straight defense streaks mean nothing if you avoid the best, and get beat by fighters your own size.

Ummm calzaghe was cool and everything but he fought 40 year old Hopkins got dropped and won a pretty debateable decision. Hopkins wasn’t “dirty” he was “crafty”. Helluva fighter that fought a long time due to living cleanly. You talk about tarver and Pavlik like they were dog doodoo lmao they were the top of the food chain.

Damn right, & if you knew the first thing about boxing so would you be.

It doesn't matter how long that he stayed at middleweight, he gradually moved to heavier weight classes naturally. He never fought anyone who outclassed him in size/weight, it was the other way around.

Yep, that is what you're meant to do. If you're SRL you may take on guys much bigger than you almost as a dare & if you're Duran you may end up fighting guys much bigger than you because the alternative would be eating & drinking sensibly, but what you just said is how boxers are meant to move between divisions.

He lost against the more powerful punchers.

We're just celebrating his victory over Felix Trinidad. With the possible exception of Julian Jackson, no MoFo ever has hit harder than Trinidad, well, maybe Bob Fitzsimmons or Sam Langford but there is no possible footage of them.

He got some of his biggest wins against smaller elite fighters, and he only beat two that were his size in their primes - Pavlik and Tarver.

Look up BoxRec, if you seriously don't think B-Hop beat top men then YDKSAB

Straight defense streaks mean nothing if you avoid the best, and get beat by fighters your own size.

                    But he didn't. So STFU.

Your response was long and weak.

A lot of my people are turned on and fooled by slick talking boxers from the hood like Hopkins and Broner. You guys can't even tell who is fugaze. You are the easiest to hustle. I grew up in the hood and had many fights. I can tell who is the real deal and who are not. Hopkins was never the real deal.

I don't have to look up Hopkins record to know that he beat big name opponents with smaller sized bodies except Pavlik and Tarver. I have a great boxing memory.

I said he could not beat the power punchers his size, and you bring up Trinidad (a guy who was smaller; not his size). Then you bring up a fighter he never fought (Julian Jackson).

You take away all of his victories against his smaller opponents, and you'll find yourself left with all of the big name opponents, that were his size, that beat him.

We don't want or need you on my debate team. You're a loser!
