Tbf, most boxers would look bad too.

Should give him some credit for just going back to back with southpaws. Maybe he'll go 3 in a row with Usyk or Zhang 2 again.
Usyk would wash him badly. He should pick a washed former top level southpaw like Charles Martin. Ortiz is also super washed but he might still be too dangerous.

In before Juggernaut666 comes in to say how biased the article title is and how the writer didn’t know what he was watching.

          Good thing he’s Usyk’s mandatory…

the referee could not have continuously missed that $yanno$what$i$mean?$
This seems to be a common problem today that all referees totally ignore. beterbiev is another one who does it often.

First, McKean fundamentals are not good and he has only puncher's chance against any serious opponent.
With that said, I want to point something that certainly everybody noticed, and which bothered me the whole fight. Every time he got seriously punched (which was often) he came close to Hrgovic, catching his hands so that he can't move them ...trying to push him towards to ropes in order to catch the ropes and hold Hrgovic for a while (holding ropes with both hands and Hrgovic in between) ... so that Hrgovic can't continue with the punches. McKean was MMA fighter so he is really good at it, but this is boxing and such things should not be allowed. At moments it looked like a wrestling or MMA match, not boxing. If referee doesn't step in and allows that, his every other fight against better fighter will look like this. He will survive till late rounds and the fight will be mostly unwatchable.
So, I hope that officials noticed that and will point out to the referee in his next fight not to allow it (at least not innumerable times during the whole fight). Then we will see how much he can really hold against better fighters.

McKean stepped it up here but wasn’t close to winning . Hrgovic will always be that sleep walking killer he just picks you apart ,the danger is if you out land guys and still get the clear shots most judges May score a round to the guy going forward at times . Hrgovic is a smooth operator but needs to go through faster gears at the next fight with Usyk if he hopes to win .

The only reason the fight should have been stopped was to give McKean time to recover from a series of fouls. He was literally being held down with Hrgovic's left hand, his head outside of the ring and rabbit punched repeatedly with the right hand.
