If you think GGG will fight Canelo the same way he fought against Murata, then no one can help you and you should quit boxing forums.

I think people are overrating any work Murata did last night. He fought at a high pace but still lost the punch output battle almost every round. GGG landed hard clean shots in every round. Rounds 2 and 3 were pretty close but not much else besides that.

I was impressed that Murata was able to push GGG back for the first part of the fight, but he was using his output as defense in a way in order to get that done, and he still put himself in range to take about 25 shots per round from GGG in those first 5 rounds. And we saw how that gameplan ended up playing out in the end.

Once he realized that he couldn’t even have his way with a 36 yr old ggg, he convinced his simple fan base that he won convincingly and there wasn’t a need for a third fight. Only to change his mind 4 yrs later and take on the 40 yr old ghost version of ggg, not too dissimilar from the ghost version of Kovalev that he faced. Now someone tell me again how ggg a more dangerous option than facing Benavidez in sept?
Canelo doesn't fight with the output of Murata or Derevy though. First few rounds in a 3rd Canelo-GGG fight will be intriguing to see exactly what the pace is, and to see if Canelo is really able to put it on GGG early.

But if he isn't, the workrate and stamina edge as the fight goes on still greatly favor GGG. Canelo doesn't want to be throwing 70 punches per round like Murata and Sergei did, if he tries he will gas out. Just completely different fights.

Canelo is more precise but if he doesn't find the target early I still think GGG will be very tough for him later in the fight.

Not only that, but Canelo won't fight GGG the way Murata or Sergei did (presumably). His stamina isn't that good, and it is dangerous to try and push pace vs GGG like that. Canelo has more weapons than those guys, and fights smarter. He doesn't want a fight where he is throwing 70 punches per round vs GGG like Murata/Sergei did lol.

Ranallo isn’t my favourite either though I do respect him. He knows his stuff, does his research and I believe him to be genuinely earnest. Still his novelty wears off fast for most. Calling a fight “EL Fuego” has become a tired catchphrase now. He cuts off and talks over everyone else. He sometimes throws out questions to the other commentators to set them up. Sometimes they are just pointless obvious questions that make it feel like he’s just throwing them a bone so they can get a word in. Often there is a good delay in someone answering or he has to repeat the question because the other commentators are surprised he’s giving them a chance to talk. There’s too many commentators on cards nowadays anyway. There’s like what six at least now in various locations? Becomes very redundant.
Too many video packages and human interest stories combined with the fight night nowadays. Everyone has a story I get it. I just want fight night to be all business time. Time for talk and speculation is over. Just get it on. Don’t need forty five minute break before the main event. No ten minute plus entrances.

I think Canelo will finally get a convincing win over Golovkin but I dont think he is going to knock him out. Canelo isnt going to open up on Golovkin like he does these other guys he has fought. He will play it closer to the vest and win a UD. Make no mistake, Golovkin is still dangerous. If I know trhat Red knows it.

Canelo has been very active since their last fight, and has been doing real well against bigger guys. ggg has done jack **** in any division above middleweight, and hasn't even cleaned out his own division. He is a joke at this point. A 3rd canelo fight does nothing to canelo to be honest. Canelo has other tough competitors to fight against as ggg clearly doesn't want smoke with other top guys not named canelo. ggg has never pursued greatness. All he wants is a canelo payday to retire. He never took tough challenges, and his resume is trash. He should have lost to jacobs and derevyanchenko, never beat canelo, etc....

Canelo will beat up GGG at this point; dude's too damn old and inactive. Bivol on the other hand... he may need his favorite judges for that one.

Golovkin is just playing Canelo here. He's been making it seem like old age has effected his ability to take a body shot, but he has been faking it just to make sure Canelo takes the fight. He'll walk through Canelo's body shots, and defy the odds by beating the Great Canelo for the 3rd time, cementing his legacy as a Top 5 ATG. Golovkin will score a KO 1-2 minutes into Round number 10. The win will earn Golovkin a shot at John Ryder. Nash out.
