The frustrating thing about Rigo is that he has the tools to be more exciting and dynamic, but his priority is on playing it safe even vs overmatched guys-- and apparently even it means having the fight slip away. I remember after he defeated Donaire, he bragged about punching his ticket into the hall of fame. It's never a good sign when a fighter sounds content to rest on his laurels after his first big pro win.

The Rigo-Casimero fight was very frustrating - you have to feel that Rigo could have thrown more without major risk - Casimero didn't look too dangerous. Like most people though, I can't really assess the risks in elite boxing (nevermind white-collar boxing), but would love to hear from Rigo why he adopted that strategy. I guess at 41, no matter what shape you stay in, you know what you've lost - most retired athletes at that age are shadows of their former self.
